2011 New Year Resolutions

I will visit home.....I will go to this house and breathe in my childhood once again...

I will see these people...

I will savor every breath I share with the grand ones before they get too "busy " for me..
I will take more walks!

I promise to not be so serious and to lighten up a bit.  I am going to try that..Also, I cant say yes to all things asked of me.  I have struggled with this for as long as I can remember.  I have to know that I really do have limitations on what I can truly handle..I think it will work for the best all the way around if I am just truthful about this one point.
I
Im going to go camping....Im going to pack up and go and stay and not worry about all the things I SHOULD be doing.  I LOVE camping and Im going to do more!

Remember the line in "Its a Wonderful Life" when Clarence said to George, "You really did have a wonderful life"?

I want to remember  .....through all the trials and hardships and all the emotions we humans go through,  our life is what we make it..We can choose sorrow and frowns or we can learn to accept what we cant change and smile as much as possible and enjoy our lives...I'm going to stop taking each day for granted.

And most of all...I want my family to always be *sure* of me...I may not do everything they want...I may not do everything right...But I will be here...day in and day out..And I care...and I will listen if nothing else.. I want them to know that really all I want for them is to be happy and enjoy life and be productive and healthy...   I want them to strive and thrive.
I want them to know just how much I LOVE them...

I want to see more sunrises and sunsets and go fishing...

I want to go to the movies and hold hands with Mickey.

I basically want to BE.

So if you would like, tell me what your plans are for 2011.

Love,
Me

Goodbye 2010

Now we come to the end of another year.  Lots of things happened ..

Emma lost her front teeth...

Mickey did a lot of digging which is good.

Bob remains my sweet boy ...always...

Marley explored the lake....

We fed a lot of wild animals...

I lost Dinky.  He had a good life with us.

Did a little camping.
Did a lot of painting and remodeling of the house on Peebly.
Went to my Nannys and did a lot of painting there too..

Mickey visited with his mother as I did with mine...

Brought back a family heirloom.
We did a lot of things this past year.  The kids grew and grew.  That has been the great part..

But sadly, my Uncle Frank passed away this year.  Still hard to believe as he was much too young in my opinion and had a lot of living yet to do.  I miss him and always will.  I know that my Aunt Gayle is hurt and saddened as is my mother and everyone else in our family.  He started a family reunion 3 short years ago and I hope it continues.
You will always be my favorite uncle..Until later...

So lets cherish the good times.
The best to all of you in 2011.
Love always and forever,
Me
PS.  Thanks especially to my Mom for listening everyday to me.  Her cards and thoughtfulness and words, make doing the hardest thing Ive ever done, living away from family, a little easier...Thank you Mommy.

With much appreciation,
Me
Your 51 year old kid.

My Mom.

Christmas past

Ive been looking back at some pictures through the years that I have of Christmas past...
This one is when I had curly and shorter hair...and no glasses..

This one was when we lived in a town called Cross Keys..That is me on the left and my brother Guss, little brother Kenny and my sister DD.  Not sure where my youngest sister was at that time but my guess is probably asleep in her crib as she would have been a baby then...I would venture to guess the dog, which my brother is so gently holding, would be Doodle bug.  He was a great dog.  Our grandfather had run over his tail in our driveway and from then on it just hung there, lifeless, no feeling..My dad took Doodle bug to town one day and during that trip the dog escaped the car and went missing.  He was gone for months.  One day our Aunt Sandy was in town and noticed this dog that looked a lot like Doodle bug walking down the sidewalk.  Sandy called out to him and he ran over.  It was him!!!!  He had a collar on and someone had taken him in and loved him.  We got him back!  Doodle bug was a great dog.

Here again at the same house.

I found these of the Grand ones in 2007...

You can only imagine what was going through her mind here in the picture!!

Or what she was looking at here..

Looking forward to many more Christmas memories..I do believe I will go back through my albums and see what else I can find from Christmas past.

Do you have a favorite Christmas memory?

Tell me.

Love,
Me

Twas the week before Christmas...

Twas the week before Christmas and all through Grandmas house

Not a creature was stirring

SO, we decided to get things going!!!!

I hadn't put a tree up yet because I had a plan.  When the girls came over I took them out and we went in search of a tree on our property.  I wanted to create a special memory for the Grand ones.
Emma had been sick with croup.  I made sure we limited her activity and kept her dressed warmly.  The weather could not have been better.  She stopped at the very first tree we happened upon, but it was too big..

Then we got Papa involved and the girls rode on the 4 wheeler with him and we went into the woods..

We cut down a rather large tree and then cut the top off for our special Christmas tree.

We set it up .....
And the girls decorated the tree how they wanted.  It was fun!

Emma received a call from her Great Great Grandmother.  They talked about Emma being sick and Nanny wished her well...

They did a terrific job with the tree and were happy to do it.

Now all is well at Grandmas house...

How are things going for you?

Tell me..

Love,
Me

Santa at Bass Pro

I believe!!!  I saw the real Santa!!!!

We took all 3 Grand ones for a photo op with Santa but the girls were separate from Dylan...Why you might ask?  Because it was just one of those days....

I don't want my picture taken!!!  I wont do it!  I wont!!!

Yeah, it was like that...And therefore you get Dylan standing to the side because he is just too cool to have his picture taken sitting on his lap.  Nope, not going to do it.

But the girls were just fine with it..  And then some.

Bass Pro is a magical place at Christmas.....

And I still say this was the real Santa.  Just look at the twinkle.

Have you seen Santa yet this year?

Tell me

Love,
Me
