Peace, Love and Elvis

Dylan had a musical program at his school...

Kids dressed up in 50's ,60's, 70's and 80's attire.

I was totally impressed.

And feeling some nostalgia..

Elvis is in the building!!! I thought I would fall over when I saw the little bit of chest hair there!!

I picked up this rock and roll 1969 tee shirt for Dylan to wear. I thought he looked totally cool and I taught him how to give the peace sign. As you can see by the look on his face, he realizes that his Grandma is totally cool and down with it...ahem..maybe not.

Anyway, his sisters think he is a rock star.

The music director organized a wonderful presentation.. Those kids rocked the building. "Heard it thru the Grapefine" had the crowd swaying along. They even did "Thriller". And then, they closed with "We are the World". Perfect..

It was a fun night.

  1. Sounds like one fun night! The elementary school where our oldest grandsons went to school has the most wonderful music teacher. Twice a year the entire school puts on a musical. That's two times a year. And it's always an incredible extravaganza. At least for a small country school. Everyone is involved. Even though our boys are long past 5th grade I still like to go. The place is always packed. Last Spring the kiddos did a musical much like Dylan's. They had 4 or 5 kindergarteners dress up like the California raisins and they did "Heard It Through the Grapevine." The grandson of a friend of mine was one of the raisins. They were the highlight of the show.

  2. Oh how I miss the elementary days. Two of mine are grown, one lives in another state. My youngest is in jr. high, ahem, middle school and at the age when he doesn't want Mom AT SCHOOL. Oh where did I go wrong? I know, he'll grow out of it, but he's my baby. You know what I mean!
My grandkids are either out of state or too young for elementary.
